Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is recruiting a Project Lead, Marketplace for Nutritious Foods, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Fulfil primary project management, reporting technical and financial documentation responsibilities for all GAIN, donor and Government of Mozambique requirements
- Implement and oversee the implementation of the project’s main activities—Innovation Accelerator, Community of Practice, Technical Advisory Committee meetings, etc
- Act as point of contact between GAIN and Marketplace Grantees
- Create Terms of Reference, Granting Agreements, Terms Sheets, in accordance with GAIN requirements
- Ensure quality of business planning and technical assistance delivered to Marketplace grantees
- Support direct supervisor to liaise with the Marketplace Investment Committee (MIC)
- Effectively manage performance of sub-contractors and technical consultants
- Report on the program progress, budget, and management of the funds, with support from direct supervisor
- Visits the field regularly to ensure that project progress is on track and risk mitigation plan is up to date
- Coordinate Monitoring & Evaluation activities with Monitoring, Learning and Research team
Requisites
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership / management position
- Demonstrated success in building and managing multi-disciplinary teams in challenging program environments
- Strong understanding of agribusiness in Mozambique
- Experience of delivering donor-funded programs highly desirable
- Experience in a global, multicultural organization
- Experience working in a public/private partnership environment highly desirable
- Private Sector experience highly desirable
- Proven project management capabilities in a developing country setting, preferably Mozambique
- Experience in agriculture or business
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity
- Computer literacy with good Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills
- A Master’s Degree in health, nutrition, business administration, or a suitable equivalent is required
- Diploma or equivalent certification in project management is highly desirable
- Fluent written and verbal Portuguese and a good command of English
- A willingness and ability to travel in challenging environments
