Tearfund is recruiting a Project Officer (m/f), to be based in Chimoio, Mozambique.
Description
- Tearfund in Mozambique is looking for a highly competent and experienced Project Officer to be base in Chimoio, to support the Mozambique Country Representative in managing existing programme portfolio and its planned expansion in line with Tearfund Country Strategy. The role primarily involves programme management support to partners ensuring that programmes are planned, implemented, monitored, evaluated and reported in accordance with Tearfund's Quality Standards. In addition, the Project Officer will contribute to building the capacity of Tearfund's partners (churches and civil society) in Mozambique to deliver excellent poverty reduction work in a cost effective and sustainable manner
Duties
- Provide programmatic and project management support to the Country Director and partners ensuring that projects are implemented, monitored, evaluated and reported in accordance with Tearfund’s Quality Standards & within Tearfund’s management systems (GPS, IBIS, Quality Standards, DMEAL-TRACK)
- Contribute to: supporting Churches and Communities actively engaging own resources, networks and influence to release 220,000 poor, vulnerable and marginalized people from poverty. Through supporting partners’ programme work to: promote integral mission, peace building and conflict resolution, livelihoods and supporting response and preparation for disasters
- The Project Officer will support the work with partners to comply with agreed programme policies, project and programme design & development, monitoring & evaluation, reporting and quality tracking
Requisites
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development or any other relevant discipline
- You will have demonstrated experience in implementing development programmes through partnerships and partner capacity development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Minimum 6 years of experience in project management (including needs assessments, proposal development, participatory monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and strategic planning) and networking
- Capacidade de falar e fazer relatório em Português e Inglês
- Mozambican nationality
- The candidate must be in possession of a valid and clean Mozambique driving permit and be able to spend at least 50% of his/her time travelling within the country
