- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Engagement Assistant/Education Outreach and Exchanges Assistant
Duties
- The Education Outreach and Exchanges Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Exchanges Coordinator or Public Affairs Officer (PAO) designee and receives work guidance from the Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist. The position has no supervisory responsibility. Coordinates Mission Public Diplomacy (PD) education outreach engagement with EV audiences, reaching youth, minorities and those who influence them through targeted Mission outreach to secondary schools, promotion of American Studies content and curricula in institutions of higher learning, and promotion of academic study in the United States through EducationUSA advising programs
- Assists the Exchanges Coordinator in managing logistical and administrative support for the Mission’s PD exchange programs for priority EV, Established Opinion Leader (EOL), and Press and Media audiences throughout Mozambique, including students, journalists, academics, professionals, and organizations such as think tanks, professional associations, civil society organizations, and educational institutions
