Quality Assurance Officer

CONTACT is recruiting a Quality Assurance Officer, to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Reporting to the Socioeconomic Development Vice President, the quality assurance officer will be responsible for executing the quality assurance and quality control 52-week plan to ensure that the social and economic development annual plan is delivered; managing the institutional memory of the quality assurance and quality control plan
  • Key activities include to: contribute to capturing bottlenecks, improvement, opportunities, and lessons learned related to quality assurance and quality control annual plan; develop and verify that SED (social economic development) data collection, recording, treatment, organization, and administration methods and processes across all SED disciplines are adequate to render reliable data to inform reporting and adaptive management; capture and codify, from the engagement reports and other events, the key elements to update the project social risk framework
  • Contribute to social risk management by creating action to mitigate, compensate or prevent the social risk from materializing; conduct data quality analysis of data reported on by implementation partners; coordinate data collection and administration across all SED disciplines by promoting the utilization of the various data collection tools and systems; provide spatial analyses and GIS (geographic information system) and mapping effectiveness verification
  • Implement the necessary tools for maintaining; processing and reporting of collected data are implemented; implement processes to build the capacity of all SED teams and cross functions to ensure confident and effective use of data collection processes and methods
  • Report and ensure that grievances are reported based on the company grievance mechanism aligned with the IFC (international finance corporation) performance standards; manage and assess the quality, integrity, and comprehensiveness of all SED data and cross-cutting teams and databases; conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of SED data, including the identification of trends across all SED disciplines; develop data and report formats
  • Participate in the elaboration of the scope of work, to ensure the data collection framework is well-defined; field verification of contracts within her/his scope of work as per the company guidelines
  • Review IP (implementing partners) reports and provide guidance to achieve the objectives established in the SOW (scope of work); keep the institutional memory stored and updated
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science, statistics, and economics with basic knowledge of social sciences
  • At least 5 years’ experience in social data management, quality assurance, and analysis
  • Comprehensive understanding of statistical analysis packages especially SPSSs, Atlas Tic, and others
  • Comprehensive understanding of geospatial data, GIS (Geographic - Information System) analysis, workflow, and data maintenance
  • Exposure to Borealis, Power BI, ISOMETRIX, or other big data management programs (including Excel)
  • Effective communication in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) Mozambique Northern Languages proficiency will be an advantage
  • Familiarity with global industry best practices for environmental and social performance, requirements, and guidelines
  • Acute awareness of the importance of data integrity and quality control
