Total is recruiting a Radio Operator (m/f), to be based in Afungi, Mozambique.
Duties
- Operate radio equipment in order to communicate with ground transport and off-shore drilling vessels
- Conduct periodic equipment inspections and routine tests in order to ensure that operations are met
- Coordinate radio related aspects of locating and contacting ground transport and off-shore drilling vessels that are in distress
- Communicate with receiving operators in order to exchange transmission instructions
- Maintain control room logs of messages transmitted and received
- Accurately record and maintain Journey Management Plans/Vehicle whereabouts board and ‘walkout’ board
- Keep a record of Journey Management for all road travels, from and to Afungi
- Liaise and coordinate with Control Room Coordinator & Transport coordinator, and keep them informed of arrivals and departures from and to Pemba
- React to IVMS alarms accordingly, informing relevant personnel
- Execute other tasks as assigned by the Control Room Coordinator
- Secondary Tasks:
- Operate and accurately display the In Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS)
- Issue and collection of TEPMA! Vehicle keys from the Control Room
- Actively monitor CCTV screens
- Actively monitor Splunk POB system
Requisites
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Strong understanding of personal time management and watch system
- Fluent in English language and written skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Flexible and co-operative approach to work: willingness to work as a team member – prepared to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally
- Administrative excellence with a high attention to detail
- Control Room Operations experience an advantage
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
