Aldelia is recruiting a Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE) (m/f), to be based in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- Responsible for liaising with the Engineer of Record (EOR), Designer of Record (DoR), construction, operations, planning, regulatory affairs, social performance and environment teams
- Responsible for the implementation of the design
- Accountable for the establishment of a change management system
- Responsible for the monitoring system and communication of the results to the EOR, including performance reviews
- Responsible, with the EOR, for the Construction Records Report
- Responsible for the Operations, Maintenance & Surveillance (OMS) Manual
- Work cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the TSF study work is to the required standard
- Actively engage with key stakeholders such as the Governance team, the Independent Tailings Review Board (ITRB), and regulatory bodies
- Understand the tailings facility for which they are responsible, the risks, and the way those risks are being managed, including any failures, deficiencies, or opportunities for improvement. The role is also accountable for all study work related to the TSF
- Regularly informed by evaluations of performance and review of results conducted as part of the tailings management system, results of the safety of the tailings review process and be apprised of any significant developments in between these activities, including production and ore body changes
- Maintain regular two-way communication with the Accountable Executive, or designee as specified in the GISTM glossary line item for Accountable Executive, as demonstrated by communication records
Requisites
- Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering field (e.g., Civil, Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical)
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design, construction, operation or monitoring of TSF and water dams
- Consulting background/exposure to a multitude of settings/operations
- Extensive knowledge of tailings storage facilities and water dams
- Understanding of technical standards and regulations
- Auditing and training skills
