Heading is recruiting for its client, an Oil and Gas company, a Senior Social Investment Coordinator, to be based in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
Duties
- Support the implementation of project under the Tunaweza initiative aligned with Social Investment (SI) strategy from inception to execution
- Under Tunaweza intuitive: design project concept papers mainly on business oriented/entrepreneurship projects, review project proposals from potential implementation partners and motivate for project approval and coordinate contracting process
- Select, engage with, and develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders at Cabo Delgado and Palma level, as required for the implementation of programs and projects under Tunaweza initiative
- With the support of the MERL team, develop reporting templates, frames and tracking of Key performance indicators by project underTunaweza
- Build and maintain good working relationships with the Tunaweza projects’ implementation partners, Government, and other elevant stakeholders as well as with TEPMA1 teams
- Support the company's relationship with implementing partners through correspondence and regular meetings
- Manage, supervise, monitor, and report on project implementation and performance (budget and time wise) of the Tunaweza programs in Cabo Delgado Province
- Implement actions with the objective to involve community members and promote their participations on the development of projects under Tunaweza initiative
- Organize and coordinate all project documents related to compliance with FCPA and financial processes for payments of Tunaweza projects and coordinate FCPA training for all implementing partners when necessary
- Ensure transparent use of the approved budget for Tunaweza projects and safeguard best management of the funds allocated to the projects by the implementing partners;
- Follow up and project supervision and monitoring on site (field work with implementing partners)
- Review and update the narrative and financial reports of the Tunaweza initiative implementation partners, sharing the results with the Social Investment Manager and SED VP
- Ensure that the company HSE standards are applied daily to the different projects implemented through: Identification and implementation of preventive action on the different Tunaweza interventions trough a promotion of safety culture, risk assessment and mitigation actions plan to all projects to be implemented
- Ensure monthly reporting to address risks identified corrective measures and lesson learn
Requisites
- University degree in Social Sciences or other relevant areas (e.g. Agriculture, Sociology, Rural Development, Agronomy, Community Development, etc)
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant working experience, with proven track record of managing social investment/community development projects including but not limited to livelihood (fisheries, agriculture, income generation activities, etc.), education, health, water & sanitation areas, etc
- Knowledge of international best practices in the development field
- Ability to lead and work in a team consisting of specialized development practitioners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent in Portuguese and English with great capacity to produce reports in both languages
