Aldelia is recruiting a SHE Construction Specialist (m/f), to be based in Temane, Mozambique.
Duties
- Provide input into requirements and preferences. Assess user needs and options and appoint necessary consultants to establish project brief, objections, priorities, constraints, assumptions, and strategies in consultation with the client
- Share expertise into safety requirements of construction projects and risk-management responsibilities of related designs
- Offer a specialist opinion into the risk assessment of construction project baseline
- Give input into the safety plans of construction project for early works
- Advise on construction project and tender safety specifications
- Assess, discuss, negotiate, and approve the contractor(s) construction project SHE plans
- Guarantee that transfer of land and area documentation is in place prior to construction activities
- Submit necessary construction safety documentation to authorities and facilitate permits that may be required to commence the construction work
- Attend regular site, technical, and progress meetings
- Perform incident and accident investigations where necessary
- Identify hazards and risks relevant to the construction project through regular and coordinated site inspections
- Detect, monitor, and report on leading and lagging indicators of the project through a dashboard or moth-end reports
- Promote and achieve SHER targets consistently and with dedication
- Deliver solutions in line with business unit goals and values
- Sell and obtain support for value adding ideas leading to business results
- Coach safety practitioners and project manager teams on safety matters
- Plan and meet project management objectives in technical, professional, and expert areas of work
- Immediately respond to incidents as per company procedures
- Assist SHE manager in reporting incidents to the relevant governmental departments
- Compile performance reports, board papers, and relevant documents
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of appropriate business solutions
- Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations
- Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, local government, and communities on international projects to maintain safety of construction activities
- Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals
Requisites
- Bachelor of Technology/Higher Dip
- 7+ relevant years of experience
