Twigg is recruiting a Social Officer (m/f), to be based in Balama, Mozambique.
Duties
- Work collaboratively with Village Liaison Officers (VLO / TWG) to ensure that Host Communities remain well informed, and have input into, Project activities and social program delivery
- Manage the complaints process to ensure all issues are managed in line with the Complaints and Grievance Procedure and escalate issues as required
- Collect reports from VLOs to ensure activities are conducted to Twigg’s standard
- Facilitate meetings in the community in support of Twigg’s objectives
- Contribute to the monthly reporting process and provide situational reports to the Social Superintendent / Manager regarding key social developments
- Coordinate and facilitate community education programs
- Coordinate the implementation of the Local Development Plan and Livelihood Develop Program
- Coordinate the implementation of Social Responsibility projects
- Maintain Social performance databases current at all times
Requisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Community/Rural Development or related discipline
- Minimum four years’ experience working on implementation of Livelihood Develop Program
- Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of the traditional authority structure in Mozambique including local, provincial and central government structures
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect to diversity
- Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills (Portuguese)
- Proficient in speaking Emakuwa (Macua) highly desirable
- English language skills highly desirable
- Excellent Computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite
