Software Analyst Consultant (m/f)

• TechnoServe and the Instituto de Amêndoas de Moçambique (IAM) are implementing the ConnectCaju Project, a cost-sharing initiative with the Norwegian Embassy, developed under the coordination of TechnoServe (TNS), with a term of about two years, covering in this phase the provinces of Zambézia, Nampula and Cabo Delgado
• This initiative aims to develop an electronic environment designed for the Cashew Subsector (the ConnectCaju Platform, or “CC2”), powered mainly by one or more applications installed on mobile devices (Smartphones, tablets) which can send data over the mobile data network, in real time, through its features
• The ConnectCaju Platform consists of several functionalities, namely: registration of actors in the sector (cooperatives, spraying service providers, inputs providers, etc.), data management of farmers and their farms, monitoring of commercialization of raw cashew nuts, tracking of cashew seedlings, nursery management and climate information management. These functionalities will be part of the ConnectCaju platform and will be used by different players in the value chain with a view to promoting synergies for the development of the Cashew Subsector in Mozambique
• In the implementation of the project ConnectCaju, TNS plans to hire for part of its working team 1 (IT)- Software Analyst Consultant, who will be reporting to the ConnectCaju IT Team Leader

IGeneral requirements

• Software analyst position providing supervision and support of the software development standards and practices, from software architecture to programming conventions. Activity breakdown:
• 30% software architecture design
• 30% implementation of software development standards
• 20% application & software design review
• 20% software test organization & implementation

Expected deliverables

• The candidate will undergo regular evaluations based on the following criteria:
• 30% - Software architecture design [successfully design specific segments of the software tools under development]
• 30% - Implementation of development standards [successfully implementing modern enterprise-level software development methods & standards]
• 20% - Mobile Application Review [successfully creating and implementing a software review process for the mobile application]
• 30% - Test Organization [successfully organizing & deploying software testing methodologies]

Requisites

• The candidate should be someone with a proven track record of developing successful software tools and products. They should also have a comprehensive understanding of industry development standards and product development roadmaps & methodologies
• 5+ years’ experience in software product development
• Demonstrable experience in managing mobile application development projects
• 5+ years’ experience in deploying software products to 100+ end-users
• Strong analytical skills & knowledge of modern software development paradigms
• Strong experience in building product development roadmaps
