Stock Accountant

MultiChoice is recruiting a Stock Accountant, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Preparation of monthly Management Packs
• Preparation of half-year and year end final Stock accounts
• Fully responsible for half year and year-end audit, including internal stock audit
• Preparation of Annual Budget and quarterly forecasts
• Supervise efficiently the work of the Stock Controller
• Provide and interpret financial stock information as may be required
• Take ownership of the general ledger stock accounts and month-end procedure
• Ensure that the fixed asset register is up to date at all times
• Reconcile all balance sheet stock accounts on a monthly basis and submit to for review
• Treasury function: day to day effective cash management and forecasting
• Ensure timely debtors collections and supplier payments
• Manage integrity of billing system input, processing and output
• Provide adequate support to Operations and other departments
• Implement and maintain effective internal stock controls and ensure compliance at all times
• Regularly review all internal stock controls and make recommendation for improving them
• Implement policies, procedures and business processes
• Strict adherence to deadlines set from time to time for month-end, forecasts & budget and Finance schedules
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as required

Requisites

• Accountant qualification or equivalent (i.e Stock Accountant), a minimum academic requirement
• Financial management experience at a senior level
• Experience with billing systems (IBS billing system knowledge added advantage)
• Product knowledge
• Financial understanding
• Business/ procedural knowledge
• Legal contracts understanding
• Credit control policies and procedures
• Project and system implementation experience
• Computer skills (i.e Excel)
• Innovation
• Result oriented
• Strong knowledge in English Language (Verbal and Verbal)
