PSI Mozambique is a dynamic, tech-savvy, business-oriented organization. We work at the intersection of marketing and public health. And we are looking for a writer, based in Maputo, to tell our stories.
Duties
We are data-obsessed and we expect our writer to find the best possible way to translate complex data into English. Which means this is not a creative writing job. It is about finding structures to tell a story built around concrete data and concrete strategies.
Your outputs will include:
- Reports
- Concept papers
- Synthesis & analysis
- Blog posts
- Infographics
Requisites
The job is equal parts analytic and creative. It requires the ability to analyse & visualize data and skills in articulating a compelling story in plain language. You will need at least:
- Very strong data analysis skills, including visualization (quant analysis in excel at the minimum)
- Excellent writing skills
- Passion for communication
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in plain language
- Tech savvyness - a very good understanding of what is possible with technology and the confidence to adopt and pursue it
- Social Media
- Attention to details
- Previous experience with donors, contracts
- Available for potential field visits to the provinces
In addition to the must-haves above, it would be great if you would also bring to the table:
- Working proficiency in Portuguese
- An understanding of M&E systems, databases
- Knowledge of Wordpress or other blogging platforms
