The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability (SPCPS) Program and Security Liaison

Description

• The Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability (SPCPS) is a joint effort by the U.S. government and partners to address root causes of violence and build durable, inclusive peace
• U.S. Embassy Maputo’s SPCPS programs are focusing first on conflict-affected areas in northern Mozambique
• Programs include a broad range of economic growth, democracy, and stabilization activities which require communications and outreach support
• The position will be located in northern Mozambique in a situational telework position
• The incumbent will travel to Economic Support Fund (ESF)-funded SPCPS program activity implementation sites approximately once a week throughout the year
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the SPCPS Coordinator

Duties

• The basic function of the position is to support ESF-funded SPCPS programs promoting economic and political stability, provide analysis on ESF-funded program locations, implementation, and stabilization efforts, and proactively engage with local Mozambique Implementing Partners (IPs) through meetings, site visits, written communications, and SMS texts. Additionally, the position will liaise with local host government officials, local security sector actors, NGOs, and International Donor Organizations
