US Embassy is recruiting a Surveillance Detection Analyst, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- The Surveillance Detection (SD) Data Technician is responsible for performing the compilation of individual reports from SD team members in a standard format, including the input of SD written reports and images into Diplomatic Security’s worldwide automated data processing database (SIMAS)
- The SD Data Technician will retrieve reports, regularly review reports and data to identify trends, patterns, event occurrences, frequency of sightings, and preparing appropriate reports, verbally and written to the Regional Security Office (RSO)/ Assistant Regional Security Office (ARSO). SD Data Technician will serve as the Acting SD Coordinator during absences of the Coordinator
Requisites
- Completion of High School is required
- Minimum two years of experience in Surveillance Detection or Security background and five years of supervisory experience is required
- Successfully completion of a Surveillance Detection course provided by the RSO, ARSO or SD Coordinator which includes specific techniques related to the detection and documentation of hostile surveillance is required
- Level III (good working knowledge) in writing/reading/ speaking English and Portuguese is required
- Familiarity with security conditions in Mozambique, especially in Maputo is required. Familiarity with the local law, security personnel and organizations is required. Basic management and leadership principles is required
- Familiarity with the use of computers and basic working knowledge of software applications such as Outlook, Excel and Access is required. A working familiarity with digital cameras and knowledge on how to download photos from camera onto PC is required. Specific training on the SIMAS will be provided on-the-job. A valid local driver’s license is required
