The practice of Deloitte in Mozambique has a Taxation Services team who are dedicated to providing professional and robust tax and legal advice on all local and international tax matters. Duties
- Growing the tax practice in Mozambique through sourcing new clients in the Mozambique market and developing staff
- Identifying business opportunities within existing clients
- Building relationships with relevant and leading industry bodiesClient service and relationship management
- Develops Mozambican specific tax knowledge
- Projects professional conduct and appearance to both internal and external clients
- Handles information with discretion and confidentiality
- Prepares proper written communication (technical opinion letters, reports, emails)
- Runs a portfolio of clients with limited Partner involvement
- Responsible for generating work from the clients
- Elicits feedback from clients to enhance client service and identify future needs and tax service opportunities
- Consults to clients on tax matters and identify risks and planning opportunities
- Keeps up to date with relevant legislative and industry changes
- Analyses and presents new tax legislation to identify new opportunities for the market
- Ensures quality standards are maintained in all assignments
- Liaises with clients, the tax authorities and other relevant Government bodies.

- Negotiate fees with clients, bill for work done and ensure fees are collected

- Assist colleagues with explanation of new concepts, processes or other development areas there by promoting transfer of knowledge
- Interacts and builds relationships with all levels of staff across the Mozambique, South African and global firm
Requisites
- CA(SA) or admitted attorney (or equivalent qualification)
- BComm Hons or LLB qualification (or equivalent qualification)
- Master's degree in Tax or Higher Diploma in TaxationYou would need to have the following experience and technical competencies
- 4-7 years working experience in Tax
- Excellent winning business skills
- Excellent in English language (Proficiency in Portugese will be advantageous)
- Willing to travel extensively
- Willing to be permanently located in Mozambique
- Good understanding of business principles
- Excellent client management experience
- Basic knowledge of Mozambican tax law will be advantageous.You would need to have the following behavioural competencies
