Síntese Azul is recruiting a Trade Commissioner Assistant for Angolan Market for its client, the Canadian High Commission in Maputo, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- The regional Canadian Trade Team has been met with increasing demand from Canadian and Angolan companies, and is in need of a dynamic and adaptive assistant to help manage this flow of work
- Reporting to Senior Trade Commissioner, the Trade Commissioner Assistant for Angola will be tasked with helping management with day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth functioning of the Team
- This strategic role in the Team will maintain various coordinating responsibilities such as organizing meetings, planning visits, managing schedules, compiling information and maintaining files organized, composing correspondence, managing event logistics, drafting reports, and translating documents (English-Portuguese)
- The Trade Commissioner Assistant for Angola will frequently be required to work in a fast-paced environment with restricted timelines

Requisites
Language profile
- Fluency in Portuguese, oral and written
- Professional working proficiency in English, oral and written
- Ability to work in French is a plus
Education
- Medium degree or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited institution, university or college in the fields of business, communications, or international studies or relevant experience
Experience
- Familiarity with business and marketing concepts and the delivery of client-focused services
- Experience organizing events designed to promote networking
- Organization and maintenance of a large network of contacts across various sectors
- The ability to communicate with high level officials, clients and contacts in an effective and respectful manner
- Experience in responding to client enquiries, conducting research, and drafting reports
- Experience contributing to a team of professionals in achieving organizational objectives/goals
Knowledge of
- Standard Microsoft Office Suite software applications
- Administrative processes and financial record-keeping
- Local government and industry structures, major economic and political issues and impacts
- Mozambique and Mozambican industry
- Angola and Angolan industry would be an advantage
