Duties
Regulatory compliance
- Ensure compliance with legislated training requirements
- Annual completion of Workplace skills development plan (WSP), Annual Training Report (ATR) to relevant body
- Keep abreast with regulatory developments in the skills development and L&D fields
- Brief the management team on any developments in legislation
- Ensure all training activities and materials meet the organizational and statutory policies, including Health & Safety
Employee readiness
- Welcome learners from the training department
- Daily follow up on with trainers on progress of the group
- Final sign off with trainer on the readiness of the group for the live environment
- Moderate sample of assessments
- Final assessment for learners found Not Yet Competent
- Conduct end of training meeting together with the trainer and campaign representatives
- Review evaluations after every training sessions
- Co-ordinate with recruitment in terms of when new starters and expected
- Custodian of the training calendar providing guidance to the L&D officers, business and recruitment in terms of scheduling for the month
- Provide support and guidance to trainers and support coaches in terms
- Project manage new products introduced into the business from a training perspective
- Identifying training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, regular consultation with business managers and human resources
- Devising individual learning plans for learners that have been identified within the business
- Managing the delivery of training and development programmes
- Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers for a period of 1 month
- Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met by constantly evaluating training and development programmes to ensure that are aligned with training best practices
- Helping line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
- Assists in managing external training provider relationships specific within the operational space
- Ensuring data/learner records all necessary data is stored as per appropriately
- Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment
- Investigation into alternate training methods
- Lead the design, development, implementation and maintenance of a skills inventory to assist in human resource planning and identification of learning needs
- Ensure that resources are available to meet business request
- Keeping up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
- Researches and recommends a complement of internal and external learning programs that align with the organizations business objectives
- Works directly with the different business units to define and coordinate customized programs based on their group’s needs
- Project manage branch and site set up as and when required in Mozambique and other countries on a project support basis
Employee Effectiveness
- Facilitate Effective training of Machine operators
- Coordinate career development, succession planning and talent management in partnership with HR recruitment manager and the Regional HR Business Partner
- Receive assess and confirm nominations for formal training programs
- Deliver training courses personally where necessary
- Organize training venues, logistics, transport and accommodation as required, to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery Cost management
- Plan, propose, obtain approval and control all learning development expenses within the allotted budget
- Any other lawful and reasonable outputs and responsibilities that may be required
Requisites
- Minimum: Post Graduate qualification in Human resources management/training and development Advantageous
- MBA
- 5 years learning and development management managing at least 3 resources
- 3 years establishing a learning and development department
- Willing to travel locally and internationally
- A sound knowledge if skills development legislation
