iDE Mozambique is recruiting a Value Chain Consultant, to be based in Various Locations, Mozambique.
Description
- The International Development Enterprises (iDE Mozambique) seeks a consultant to conduct a Value Chain Assessment in the Beira Corridor that will be used to guide the implementation of a new project titled Strengthening the Missing Middle in Agribusiness for Rapid Transformation (SMART)
Duties
- Undertake a review of the SMART program documents and other relevant documents provided by iDE
- Assess key value chains in the Beira corridor and provide recommendation on which ones would suit the SMART program
- Undertake fieldwork, to include mapping studies, that will provide recommendations for implementing the SMART program This will include interviews with key stakeholders, which will determine key intervention points and recommended approaches for improving specified agricultural services
Requisites
- Minimum 8 years’ work experience in evaluation of economic development programs, especially in agriculture Experience in Mozambique is highly preferred
- Team members must have strong expertise in agricultural value chains, livelihoods, and statistical analysis techniques
- Team preferably has experience in conducting gender analyses in previous programs
- Strong experience in baseline assessments, including evidence of success in completing similar baselines in terms of size, design, and rigor
- Ability to hire experienced enumerators with experience in the geographical areas
- High capacity for writing in English and preparing quality written products in respect of deadlines
