ACDI/VOCA is recruiting a Value Chain Manager, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Lead the project’s overall technical direction, vision and leadership under the supervision of the Chief of Party
- Oversee development of value chain analyses and production and implementation of value chain work plans that identify interventions and activities in each value chain
- Develop the capacity of producers and SMEs in Mozambique to identify and respond to domestic, regional and international business opportunities in target value chains
- Facilitate the development of inclusive supply chains linking producers to value added markets
- Scale-up commercially viable post-harvest handling and storage technologies and practices that ensure food safety and quality and limit post-harvest deterioration
- Facilitate private sector investment in supply chain infrastructure, including but not limited to grain storage facilities
- Improve the commercial viability of market information platforms, and ensure equitable access to information by men, women and youths
Requisites
- Master’s degree in agriculture or a business related field
- Minimum of five years of experience as the technical manager for donor-funded value chain, Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P), and/or Market Systems Development projects
- Demonstrated success using facilitation in at least one of the following: the USAID value chain approach, M4P, or Market Systems Development approach, which led to greater competitiveness and inclusiveness in markets
- Experience conducting value chain analysis and developing value chain work plans is desired
- Excellent communication skills for a wide audience of stakeholders
- Fluency in English is required
- Fluency in Portuguese is desired
