Grindrod is recruiting a Warehouse Manager, to be based in Nacala, Mozambique.
Duties
- Manage the terminal activities to ensure a cost effective, efficient and reliable service is delivered
- People Management:
- Resourcing of the operation with management of a combination of flexible and non-flexible staff
- Supervision of staff
- Develop and motivate staff
- Monitor and coordinate activities and performance of staff
- Training and development

- Ensures safe keeping, maintenance and optimisation of all assets
- Enforce terminal specific SLA in consultation with Procurement

- Process Management:
- Ensure that processes are monitored, performance tracked and resources optimally utilised, recommending plan when necessary

- Administration:
- Approve and implement corrective action where necessary in relation to the following reports:
- Stock adjustments
- Stock reversals
- Backdating

- Approve purchase orders in line with Limits of Authority
- Provide input into the budget process
- Conduct and plan self-audits
- Sub-contractor

- All administrative functions efficiently handled and adequately completed on time
- Health, Safety and Environment:
- Stock adjustments
- Take ownership of ensuring that the HSE policy, procedures and practices are adhered to and creates a positive, healthy and safe work culture
- Conducts ongoing risk analysis, recognise potential failures in collaboration with HSE Officer and TM with a view to adeptly shift orientations to deal with them

Requisites
- Degree or equivalent (preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain)
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Solid Knowledge of Warehouse

- 5 years or more experience in relevant Industry and senior Management
