World Vision is recruiting a WV Mozambique Emergency Response Nutrition Coordinator, to be based in Quelimane, Mozambique.
Duties
- Technical: Oversee and ensure the quality of the WFP projects’ nutrition related activities including regular monitoring, field visits and learning
- Prepare and update the detailed implementation plan (DIP) of Community Mobilization components of the WFP projects’ nutrition activities
- Ensure efficient, effective and timely implementation of the community mobilization activities of the WFP projects’ nutrition activities
- Develop detailed monthly/weekly implementation plans for Nutrition officers in order to achieve the activities in the DIP
- Identify/develop/adopt proper tools (including BCC/IEC materials, reporting formats and manuals) and ensure their incorporation during implementation
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Support project DME colleagues to ensure that appropriate monitoring indicators and tools are in place
- Contribute to the development of monthly plans based on the project nutrition design
- Submit activity report on a weekly basis to the program manager, in accordance with donor and WV Mozambique standards
- Supervision: Conduct supportive monitoring and supervision visits to Nutrition officers and community volunteers to assess whether activities are being done to the required standard; For example, if a community group has been trained in malnutrition screening and IYCF and is subsequently conducting these activities, attend a random sample of these to assess the quality of implementation
- Ensure that there is a feedback, information, and complaints mechanism and place and facilitate any feedback as required
- Representation and Coordination: Coordinate with other project sectors in the field especially food assistance, protection and WASH
- Represent World Vision Moz at the nutrition cluster coordination, and other government meetings
- Initiate dialogue with stakeholders where this will be beneficial to projects progresso; This may include other NGOs, government entities
- Ensure good relationships are maintained with district government and other key stakeholders
- Attend meetings as requested by the project district lead, particularly in the area of health & nutrition
- Prepare reports on meetings and ensure these are kept in an accessible file

Requisites
- Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- Minimum qualification required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (e.g. nursing, nutritionist) in a relevant subject, received training in health
- Conceptual understanding of, and commitment to, development work among the poor
- Knowledge of the community health and nutrition in the Mozambican context
- Experience in training others in small groups and individual counselling
- Willingness to travel within the community and meet with different groups
- Experience: Knowledge of social development, social needs of women and children
- Previous relevant experience, including at least two years in a sector project
- Experience in delivering technical support and capacity building such as training and coaching
- Respected by the women in the community and at local authority level
- Knowledge of nutrition, health and hygiene
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity
- Experience in training others in small groups and individual counselling
- Working Environment/Conditions: Able to work on a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff
- Based in the district project office, with frequent travel into the communities
