• TechnoServe has been providing technical assistance to industries, agribusiness and entrepreneurs in Mozambique with high growth potential for over 20 years, since our office was opened in 1998. We have helped create a competitive and sustainable commercial agricultural sector that has generated opportunities for and rural suppliers, as well as new employment opportunities for the low-income population. Our goal over the next 10 years is to increase our impact, leveraging and sharing knowledge, building new partnerships, in order to catalyze new changes

Duties

• The primary responsibility of the Youth Entrepreneurship Business Advisor is to train youth in business management, maintain regular contacts with key local actors (communities, private sector) and official authorities (District and Provincial Governments) in the locations where Project activities take place, and coordinate knowledge sharing events between youth and other key partners/stakeholders
• Train youth in business management, including record keeping
• Plan and coordinate knowledge sharing events between youth and other key partners/stakeholders
• Ensure that all youth beneficiaries have the necessary support to maintain and scale their businesses with success
• Advise youth on business strategies to successfully grow their ventures
• Coordinate the business idea sharing events and youth selection process
• Support youth entrepreneurs in writing and submitting their quarterly reports, as well as any other solicited data
• Make sure that the program objectives are being followed and achieved on time
• Develop training materials for the youth
• Code of Conduct: Exemplary posture, in compliance with TechnoServe's internal regulations
• Represent TechnoServe's values and principles in relations with partners of the Project (producers, communities, community leaders and Government authorities)
• Report field observations to allow corrective measures be taken in time
• Impact: The Youth Entrepreneurship Business Advisor will come into contact with youth and partners, and must maintain a professional image and attitude that represents TechnoServe's values, principles and standards

Requisites

• At least 5 years of proven experience in supervisory and coordination functions, preferably as the owner of a business
• At least 3 years of experience in working directly with communities, community authorities, youth, private sector and District Governments
• At least 3 years experience in the area of training in financial literacy, micro finance, banking, small business management
• Basic knowledge of markets in Cabo Delgado, principally those propelled by SMEs
• University-level degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent
• Languages: Fluent in Portuguese, basic notions of English and Macua
