My name is Eunice Gaveta, Mozambican, 40 years old and a professional with more than 9 years of experience in the Human Resource Management area. Currently I am working for the Southern Sun Hotel in Maputo where I have been for 5 years where I started an HR Department with 3 direct reportees that assist me in different areas of HR administration, training and development, compensation and benefits. Two of them started as trainees, without any experience and today they are able after 3 years to manage their own tasks with minimum supervision. One of them is now in a position of HR Officer and the second as an HR Admin. The experience I have gained is priceless starting a Department from scratch, I managed to put into place corrective measures in the Audit Report Compliance going from 80% negative to the best Department Audit Report Compliance in the group. Also, I implemented a, new payroll system, an accurate HR Data base, created and reviewed policies, procedures and templates, update the internal code of conduct, developed and improved better and effective relationship with Union based on a solid platform of respect and trust. I have also worked in re-structuring some Departments in conjunction with Head of Departments, reducing the number of staff but improving productivity and improving the level of service standards. After 5 years of fully dedication to create the basis of my Department, I have decided to embark in a new stage of my life, I believe that a postgraduate study will provide me with the platform to develop further in my career along with invaluable experiences that will allow me to become a successful, innovative professional and assist me in accomplishing my goals.
